How to set up your RDS Farm session on Mac OS.
To work with our ERP software Navision you need to create a remote desktop service connection to our RDS Farm with Microsoft Remote Desktop.
Requirements:
The Microsoft Multifactor Authentication application must be installed and set up on your mobile phone. likewise, this method must be the default authentication method. If this is not the case you will not receive the button to approve your identity while connecting to the RDS Farm.
Get the latest Microsoft Remote Desktop app for free from the App store. Setting up Microsoft Remote Desktop is very straightforward.
Create your User Account and Gateway to simplify the login process.
Create a User Account:
1. Navigate to "settings" by selecting "Microsoft Remote Desktop" from the menu bar.
2. Under the "User Account" tab, set up your account. Your username should be your complete ShowTex email address (firstname.lastname@showtex.com).
3. Use your MS365 ShowTex password as the password.
4. Provide a “Friendly name” for example your name and “Add”.
Create the Gateway:
1. Go to "Settings" by selecting "Microsoft Remote Desktop" from the menu bar.
2. Under the “Gateways” tab, create a new gateway.
3. Enter "ts.showtex.com" as the "Gateway name".
4. Add a “Friendly name”, such as GW ShowTex.
5. For “User account”, choose the one you previously created and click “Add”.
The last step is to add the Workspace.
1. Navigate to “Connections” from the menu bar and “Add Workspace”.
2. For workspace url use ts.showtex.com
3. For “User account” pick your account.
4. On the Workspaces desktop, you can now see icons that either launch the RDS Apps or open the full desktop.
By default, the full desktop mode will use all your displays. To disable this, follow these steps.
1. Right-click on the “RDS.Showtex.com” icon located on the “Showtex World of Apps” desktop and select "edit".
2. Next, select “Use custom settings”.
3. Deselect the options “Use all monitors” and “Start sessions in full screen”
You are now prepared to begin your RDS session.
